Beurer is launching its production of face masks and is supporting the German Federal Government
Special times call for special measures. The healthcare specialist Beurer has recognised that there is currently a lack of medical protective equipment, even though these goods are necessary for every day life. This is why the Ulm-based company is expanding its production in Germany and Hungary and is now also manufacturing high-quality FFP2 masks and surgical masks there. It goes without saying that Beurer, as a medical device manufacturer, meets all the quality criteria required in the medical environment. As a result, Beurer was able to process the first order for the delivery of 20 million FFP2 masks to the German Federal Government in May.
Quality and flexibility are paramount. In order to ensure fast availability nationwide and operate independently of international supply chains, the protective masks will be manufactured in the two production facilities at the German site in Uttenweiler and at the Hungarian plant in Veszprém. Three production lines have been set up here for FFP2 face masks and surgical masks, which are used both in the medical field and by the end consumer. The products meet very high quality standards, meaning that Beurer is able to support the German Federal Government with 20 million masks at short notice.
"We are aware of our social responsibility and want to meet the increased demand on more than a temporary basis. We are delighted that our in-house production can now get started. This is because high-quality medical protective equipment is constantly required in the hospital and care sector, as well as in many other healthcare facilities. The idea for Beurer to manufacture the masks can be traced back to the German Bundestag Member Alexander Kulitz from the FDP, who reported the supply problem to me in April. With our production in Germany and Europe, we will be able to react with absolute flexibility in the future and contribute to improved basic supply in society," says Marco Bühler, Managing Director of Beurer GmbH.
Only recently, the Ulm-based healthcare specialist donated 20,000 surgical masks and 5,000 FFP2 masks from an initial delivery to retirement homes in Ulm and Neu-Ulm.
